Skin Peels
If your skin is feeling dull or dehydrated and you’re noticing signs of ageing, you may just need a deep facial to refresh and renew your complexion. Superficial chemical skin peels are essential when talking about skin and beauty, they are one of the most demanded and most practised techniques in aesthetics as well as a popular treatment amongst patients at our Northampton clinic.
What is a skin peel?
A skin peel is a type of facial that deeply cleanses and exfoliates the skin using a high quality solution. It gently removes dead skin cells to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion underneath. Typically given as a course of treatments, over time you will see improvement in the texture and quality of your skin as well as a reduction in imperfections and fine lines.

Aftercare
It is important to bear in mind that a chemical peel or course of skin peels does require downtime. Your skin will likely be sensitive following your treatment as it has been stripped of the top layer. Depending on the type of peel you have, you may experience continual peeling and flaking of the skin for a week or so afterwards. You may want to bear in mind any plans or events you have coming up and this may affect things like makeup application. It is also essential to wear a high SPF following a chemical peel to ensure you are not at risk of sun damage.
Other precautions such as avoiding saunas, sunbathing, other skin treatments or harsh products are also advised.
Your practitioner will let you know all of this in your consultation and in your appointment too.
